A Day of Gratitude Between Summer and Autumn "Žolinė"

In a time of rush and forgetfulness, we often lose sight of where we come from. We forget the people we meet, the food we eat, the herbs we drink, and the simple rituals that once gave meaning to everyday life. Yet more and more people today are turning back to the earth, seeking connection with traditions that remind us of nature’s cycles. One of these traditions is Žolinė, celebrated in Lithuania on August 15th - a holiday where summer meets autumn. For centuries, this date has been both practical and symbolic: the middle of August is when the most important outdoor work is complete, and people bid farewell to the green fields, flowers, and herbs of summer. It is a day to feel the earth and be thankful - for every breath, for every meal, and for every soul around us.As old traditions tell us,“On this day, women would pick the most beautiful flowers and herbs, and would thank the Earth for its plentiful harvest. The blessed bouquets symbolize the entirety of life and the universe.”

Žolinė is a reminder that while life is fast and often overwhelming, there is strength and meaning in pausing, gathering, and giving thanks for the living earth itself.

This small photoshoot, done deep in the forest-green, raw, and filled with the scent of peace-was inspired by that very spirit. The people who took part opened the doors to Sanctum Nature, a place where the forest meets the soul.

There, the practice of Shinrin-yoku - or forest bathing - invites us to immerse ourselves in the forest atmosphere, to breathe deeply, to listen, to touch, and to reconnect. It is not about hiking or exercise, but about slowing down and engaging all senses in a mindful dialogue with nature.Žolinė and forest bathing share the same essence: the art of noticing, of gathering what the earth offers, and of finding peace in presence. Together, they whisper a simple truth - when we pause, breathe, and give thanks, the earth gives back.

. This forest gathering was not only about ritual and tradition, but also about simplicity and presence.

The painter Rolandas wore our black linen suit , designed for comfort, breathability, and timeless wear. Linen, made from the flax plant, is one of the most sustainable fabrics  - durable, biodegradable, and rooted in centuries of European craftsmanship.

The founder chose pleated culotte pants from cupro paired with a black cupro vest. Cupro, a regenerated cellulose fiber, is valued for its silky softness and ability to be produced with minimal waste. It brings a balance of elegance and responsibility, offering a fabric that feels luxurious yet aligns with conscious choices.

Together, these garments reflect the same values as Žolinė itself - respect for the earth, gratitude for natural resources, and a return to essentials that endure.

And so, as the holiday reminds us to pause and give thanks, we close with a deep breath to the Earth — the greatest designer of all.
From Loreta, designer of these garments: feel free, and breathe free.
